Welcome New Students!
Orientation, Advising, and Registration
We're glad you're here! Our Orientation, Advising, and Registration (OAR) programs are for finding the tools and resources you need to thrive at Western, getting your questions answered, and connecting with the Western community.
Step 1: Sign up for Your Advising & Registration Session
Once you have confirmed your enrollment at WWU, you can sign up for your online Advising & Registration session. Advising & Registration sessions are required for incoming First-Year and Running Start students and strongly recommended for incoming Transfer students. Post-baccalaureate students, please refer to the pages below for advising options.
Step 2: Connect with Orientation Activities & Resources
Attending an Advising & Registration session is just one step in setting yourself up for success in your first quarter at Western. Join fellow incoming students, Orientation Student Advisors, and WWU staff and faculty during our virtual offerings designed to connect new students and their families with the WWU and Bellingham communities.
Step 3: Prepare for Your First Quarter
Complete required and recommended actions before your first quarter, including submitting proof of your measles immunization, completing the Math Placement Assessment, submission of final transcripts, and more.
Visit our Welcome Families page for tips for navigating Family Orientation as well as information about campus resources and services available to you and your student.
