Outdoor Center Excursions offer a fun, accessible, and affordable way for WWU students to get outside and connect with themselves and others. Emphasis is placed on group involvement, developing and refining skills, responsible environmental practices, fostering diversity, enriching the academic experience, and promoting life-long learning.

The Community Service Center encourages personal growth through community building and will help students find their place within the community. Join us for a presentation: Be Well WWU! Mental Health and Wellness Resources Overview, at 11:30am in Miller Hall 131. Join us for a brief look at all the great resources and support options students can find at the Counseling and Wellness Center on campus. We'll talk about what's on the menu from therapy to groups to substance use support, programs offered by our amazing Health and Wellness Promotion team, and how students can access services. Success and wellbeing involves so much more than academics!

Join us for a presentation: Supporting Neurodivergent Thinkers, at 12pm in Miller Hall 131. Are you supporting a Western student who identifies as neurodiverse? Maybe you're neurodiverse too! This space is designed to help loved ones better understand neurodivergent brains and explore ways to support them as they navigate college life and transition into adulthood. We’ll talk about ableism, accommodations and helpful resources you can share with your student when they’re struggling. We’ll also share some resources to support you- the better we care for ourselves, the better we’re able to support those we care about.

Both sessions will be presented by Calleaghn Kinnamon, PsyD, Postdoctoral Resident and Neurodiversity Specialist, WWU Counseling and Wellness Center. 

Dining at WWU is here to ensure students receive balanced, nutritious meals while educating them about the benefits of certain foods through interactive events and pop-ups. Meal plans are also available for purchase for any student, on or off campus, that would like more peace of mind and less cooking and cleaning during their time at WWU! The SRC is the smart place to be! At the Student Recreation Center, we offer a variety of programs so everyone can find a good fit for themselves from aquatics in the pool and climbing lessons on the rock wall to intramural sports and group fitness classes. We also can’t wait to share information about our quarterly Care Packages program!

Sustainability is an important part of Western’s identity, history, and our future. Come by and learn about the cool work being done on and off of campus to make this world more socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable. 

Meet The Centers for Student Access, Community, and Intercultural Engagement (The Centers): Disability Access Center & Disability Outreach Center, LGBTQ+ Western, and Office of Multicultural Student Services (Blue Resource Center, Black Student Coalition, Ethnic Student Center, and La Plaza). Through services, programming, and advocacy centering Western students with marginalized identities, The Centers advance holistic student development and inclusive achievement.

The Western Washington University Police Department is dedicated to the safety and security of our campus community. University Police works directly with Parking Services and the Lock Shop to ensure the safest and most accessible campus possible. We provide 24-hour service, for all your safety needs. The Western Washington University Police Department is comprised of four areas of operation, who report to the Chief of Police: UPD, Dispatch, Records/Administration, and Greencoats. The department employs 25 full-time classified employees and approximately 9 part-time student employees.

Explore Bellingham by bus during Fall Family Weekend with a limited supply of free weekend passes for visiting families of Western students to enjoy! Stop by the Whatcom Transit Authority table during the Family Resource Fair to pick up your free weekend pass and learn more about WTA routes and services! Buses are $1 per ride without the weekend pass, and kids 18 and under ride free. Students also ride for free with their Western Card or they can stop by for a demo of the Umo app, WWU’s new digital bus pass option.
