Winter Advising & Orientation (Winter A&O) is for new first-year (freshmen/Running Start) and transfer students, and and supports your transition to campus with an academic advising and campus orientation program. Winter A&O offers a streamlined process for new students to meet with campus staff to learn about critical campus and advising resources, receive academic advising support to build class schedules, and prepare for the class registration process. You’ll also have time in the day to visit the Associated Students Bookstore and other campus resource offices and support services.
Winter Advising & Orientation 2020 dates:
- Friday, November 8 (Transfer) (Session Full)
- Friday, November 15 (Transfer)
- Monday, January 6 (First-Year & Transfer)
Winter Advising & Orientation is designed to help you begin your Western experience with confidence and success. Your participation will help you feel more comfortable and prepared to begin your career at Western. We encourage you to explore this website to help you prepare and to make your reservation.
New students are assigned a time and date for class registration based on the number of credits, and the Registrar’s Office website listing the Registration Schedule is a helpful resource. Winter Quarter 2019 classes begin on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Post-baccalaureate Students: Rather than a formal advising session, Post-baccalaureate students are invited and encouraged to schedule an individual advising appointment prior to winter quarter registration. Please contact the Academic Advising Center by e-mail at Advising@wwu.edu or at (360) 650-3850 to schedule your individual advising appointment.
