Welcome, new First-Year students!

Your first year of college can be a time of great excitement, unexpected challenges, and lots of unfamiliar faces and experiences. But no need to worry . . . you're not alone! New Student Services/Family Outreach is here to help you feel more comfortable and confident at WWU. We wish you the very best at Western, and look forward to helping you succeed!

Advising & Orientation

Our Advising & Orientation programs for new First-Year (Freshmen & Running Start) students offer great opportunities to receive academic advising and class registration support. In addition to developing core academic preparation skills, students will also learn about campus life and resources, gain a better understanding of Western's academic expectations and resources, meet with helpful faculty, staff and student advisors, and begin connecting with fellow new and current WWU students. New First-Year students are required to attend an Advising & Orientation program in order to register for classes.
