Summer Advising & Orientation (Summer A&O) is for new transfer students entering Western beginning Summer quarter, and supports your transition to campus with an academic advising and campus orientation program. Summer A&O offers a streamlined process for new students to meet with campus staff to learn about critical campus and advising resources, receive academic advising support to build class schedules, and prepare for the class registration process. You’ll also have time in the day to visit the Associated Students Bookstore and other campus resource offices and support services.
There are two sessions of Summer Advising & Orientation 2018:
- Friday, May 4th (Transfer Students)
- Friday, May 11th (Transfer Students)
For new Post-baccalaureate students, rather than attending a formal advising session, Post-bacc students are invited and encouraged to schedule an individual advising appointment prior to Summer quarter registration. Post-bacc students can contact the Academic Advising Center directly to receive academic advising and course registration support. Please contact Academic Advising at 360.650.3850 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
New students are assigned a time and date for class registration based on the number of credits, and the Extended Education office’s website listing the Registration Schedule is a helpful resource. (During the regular academic year, students will refer to the Registrar’s Office website for the Registration Schedule.) Summer Quarter 2018 classes begin on Tuesday, June 26.
Reservations for Summer Quarter Advising & Orientation 2018 are now OPEN.
