1. Why should I come to Fall Family Weekend?
To have fun and spend time with your student!! Western will open its doors for family, friends, and community to visit campus. There will be many departmental open houses, tours, student performances, athletic events, presentations, planetarium shows, comedy shows, and more. Ask your student what they want to do and to show you around campus and Bellingham. We’ll be here to provide options for your family to make a plan that suits you.

2. What will I expect when I come to campus?
Visit our Welcome Center in Red Square to check-in and pick up your event guide to Fall Family Weekend. Didn’t RSVP for the weekend; just swing by and we’ll get you checked in! The New Student Services/Family Outreach staff will be on site to answer any questions and make sure you and your family have a great plan for the weekend!
3. Where should I park?
Parking charges is suspended during Fall Family Weekend, starting at 3:00pm on Friday through midnight on Sunday. Please refer to Directions and Parking for more information.
4. Where should I stay?
We recommend booking accommodations early as hotels near campus fill up quickly. Please refer to our Accommodations guide as you plan lodging and restaurant reservations.
5. Do I need to buy tickets?
Fall Family Weekend offers many free events and some ticketed events. If you are interested in any of the ticketed events we recommend purchasing tickets early, as many events sell out. All tickets can be purchased though the WWU Box Office. Fall Family Weekend sponsored events will go on sale on Wednesday, September 19.
6. Where will I get my tickets when I get to campus?
All tickets can be purchased or picked up at will-call at the WWU Box Office in the Performing Arts Center Lobby.

- Saturday, October 20: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
- Sunday, October 21: closed
7. Are there special accommodations?
